Bucksville

Chel White’s directorial feature film debut is a dark but eerily beautiful story about a young man who struggles to escape the reality of being bound for life to a disenfranchised, small town radical militia started 20 years ago by his father.  Written and produced well before the Occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and the 2016 Trump presidential election, Bucksville is a  prescient, thinking person’s vigilante film that twists together the timely topics of ethics, capital punishment and gun control rights. Starring Thomas Stroppel, Ted Rooney and Allen Nause, with a cameo appearance by Tom Berenger. Written by Laura McGie and Chel White, with music by Tom Brosseau. Jamie S. Rich of The Oregonian calls Bucksville, “An insightful portrayal of an extreme point of view without the expected self-righteous critique.

“A dark, intriguing film.” -Waterfront Film Festival

“Haunting and frank, (Bucksville) ponders the fine line between good and evil in a rural setting that is both beautiful and dark.” -Ashland Independent Film Festival

“An intelligent, thought-provoking and engaging thriller.” -VideoViews

“A stand out… (Bucksville) is a fictional, but all too real, look at extremist militias in the United States and the extent to which some of them go to carry out their ‘missions.” -Kansas City Star
